At the beginning of the year, 42 residents were infected with dengue fever

LACQUER, Java Post Radar Madura – The efforts of the Sampang Health and Family Planning Office (Dinkes and KB) to overcome dengue fever dengue (DHF) need to be optimized. Moreover, earlier this year there were dozens of Kota Bahari residents who were infected with dengue.

The Head of Communicable Disease Prevention and Control (P2PM) at the Health Office and the Sampang family planning unit, Samsul Hidayat, confirmed that many residents were infected with DHF. In early January there were dozens of people who had dengue fever. “The latest report I received, earlier this year there were 42 cases,” he said yesterday (23/1).

The man who is familiarly called Samsul said that the high number of cases was very reasonable. Because, the disease appears during the rainy season like today. Moreover, there are many puddles that cause mosquito larvae to breed quickly.

So“From the start, I have appealed to the public to drain, close, and bury (3M) bathtubs or other places that have the potential to become mosquito nests,” he said.

So far, Samsul does not know for sure the number of people who are still undergoing treatment. “What is clear, if DHF is not treated immediately, it can be fatal. However, until now there have been no reports of residents dying from dengue fever,” said Samsul.

Samsul emphasized that the majority of people affected by DHF live in urban areas. “I have asked the Kamoning and Banyuanyar Health Centers to actively promote the prevention of DHF. For example, do fogging and eradicate mosquito nests using abate,” he said. (iqb/yan)
