A call for fire was received at 00.35. When firefighters arrived at the scene, it was concluded that an unmanaged building of 300 square meters was burning.
The fire was localized at 3.16 and extinguishing is currently underway.
In Jelgava, a call was received before 9 pm, in which the SFRS representatives lifted a person from a 16-meter-high lift basket, which had become entangled in the construction of the hangar.
Also, last day in Carnikava region, a sauna built in a residential building with an area of one square meter burned down. People had evacuated the building.
Taking into account that firefighters have to put out fires in saunas every weekend, SFRS urges holidaymakers to be responsible and careful, observing fire safety regulations. The invitation applies especially to those holidaymakers who have a sauna built into a residential building.
In all, last night firefighters and rescuers went to 66 calls, of which 28 were for fires, 21 for rescue, four for forest fires, and 17 were deceptions. There were no casualties, deaths or emergencies in any of the calls.
