At least 8 out of 15 lawyers no longer attend Martien R. | Inland

Main suspect Martien R. and his lawyer Jan-Hein Kuijpers were the first to refuse to “participate in this circus” on Friday, according to an enraged Martien R. Both he and his lawyer left the room.

Martien R. and Kuijpers accuse the court of being biased. Martien R. asked the court to withdraw voluntarily. “You are wearing the wrong gown, you are in the wrong chair,” said Martien R. to the chairman, who was previously a public prosecutor. “And your colleagues are not doing anything either,” added Martien R. added.

The incident followed the court’s decision earlier this week to dismiss virtually all of the defendants’ defenses. Kuijpers asked the court to declare the Public Prosecution inadmissible in the prosecution because there would be no fair trial from the start.

According to the lawyer, the judiciary used far-reaching investigation methods without any concrete suspicion against Martien R., purely to be able to build a case against him. And the Public Prosecution Service also violated the so-called ban on passage by not intervening when there was apparently a criminal act by Martien R. and his co-defendants.

Rejection

The court rejected that. Martien R. and Kuijpers were not surprised about this, they said on Friday, given the experience in recent months. The court has so far rejected most of the defense’s requests. It only added to their anger.

Martien R .: “I have had the feeling for 15 months that the officers have already written the demand and that the court is already planning the verdict. I would say; just slap it ”, he said angrily. He accuses the Public Prosecution Service of “lying, cheating and manipulating” and thinks “that the court will take over everything indiscriminately.”

Lawyer Kuijpers chose not to challenge the court, because he believes that it has no chance. The Supreme Court has ruled that unwelcome decisions cannot be grounds for challenge. The court has withdrawn for deliberation on the situation that has arisen.

Suspects can be forced to attend their case, but the effect is the same as staying away if the suspects then remain silent and also prohibit their lawyers from acting on their behalf.
