At least 30 died in the Gaza Strip

Sources tell Reuters that the parties will agree on a ceasefire from Sunday evening. The proposal must have been put forward by Egypt.

An Egyptian security source tells Reuters that Israel has agreed to the cease-fire offer, while a Palestinian official familiar with the mediation says that it would come into force at 20:00 local time, at 19:00 Norwegian time.

Al Jazeera reports in an update that Israeli sources tell them that there is no agreement on a ceasefire, but that the tendencies have been that they want to end the military operation soon.

The truce has also not been confirmed by the Islamic Holy War, which in recent days has exchanged attacks with Israel.

A source in the group tells AFP that talks about a ceasefire are underway.

– Talks are taking place at the highest level. The resistance will not stop if the occupation’s aggression and crimes do not stop, says the source.

Egypt’s President Abdel FatThe correspondent from Al Jazeera also says that the hours before the ceasefire are critical, with many attacks from both sides.

At least 30 people killed

The Palestinian Ministry of Health states that at least 30 people have been killed in the attacks against the Gaza Strip, which began on Friday. Six children are said to be among those killed. This is reported by the Palestinian authorities.

At the same time, the health authorities warn that there may only be 48 hours left until the emergency generators in the hospitals in Gaza run out of fuel.

The Minister of Health has asked the international community for help to keep the hospitals operating. The situation now is that there are only four hours of electricity a day.

Holding funerals

On Sunday, funerals were also held for many of those killed during the attacks on the Gaza Strip.

Among other things, large crowds gathered to follow the funeral procession of Khaled Mansour, a commander-in-chief of the radical Palestinian group Islamic Holy War.

He was killed in an Israeli attack on Saturday night.

Israel says the airstrikes were aimed at Islamic holy war (Jihad) and claims they faced an “imminent threat”. They say the attacks will last a week.

Islamic holy war says it has fired rockets at Jerusalem on Sunday. The military part of the group has said in a statement that they have fired rockets at the metropolis. There are also supposed to have been several explosions and aircraft alarms near Jerusalem. Al Jazeera writes that.

This will be the first time the city has been the target in this round of attacks against the Gaza Strip.

Condemns the attacks

The African Union (AU) condemns Israel’s air strikes on the Gaza Strip, says the union’s chairman, Moussa Faki.

– The attacks against civilians and the occupation by Israeli forces are a strong violation of international law and complicate the work to find a just and lasting solution, says the AU leader.

The relationship with Israel is disputed among the members of the union. The background is that Faki granted observer status to Israel last year, which resulted in sharp criticism from major member states such as South Africa and Algeria.

The decision was a major diplomatic victory for Israel, and Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh asked the AU earlier this year to reverse the decision
