ASUS ZenFone 7 may be the black horse among this year’s flagships

ZenFone 6 was in my opinion one of the the most interesting smartphones of 2019. While the market is flooded with visual and functional clones, ASUS was not afraid to bet on a unique design with a practical, rotating camera.

ZenFone 7 will have its premiere at any moment, about which something is already known.

ASUS ZenFone 7: spec leaking

Service ReaMeizu noticed that data on ZenFone 7’s equipment was included in the software’s source code ROG Phone’a 3. They show that the smartphone will be armed with:

• 6.4-inch LCD screen with 1080p resolution and 60 Hz refresh rate;
• Snapdragona 865;
• main camera 64 Mpix (IMX686) with optical image stabilization;
• 12 Mpix camera (IMX363) with ultra wide angle lens;
• ToF sensor for precise depth detection.

The camera – as in the case of its predecessor – should be rotated. Thanks to this, it will be possible to use it to take selfies, automatically generated panoramas or play with perspective (e.g. taking pictures from the sidewalk, placing the phone on it with the camera extended by 90 degrees). In addition, thanks to this procedure, the display is to be devoid of indentations and holes.

There is also talk of a large 5000 mAh battery.

Any deficiencies ASUS ZenFone 7 can compensate for the price

Compared to the competition, the lack of an OLED screen with a higher refresh rate or a telephoto lens may be disappointing, but the smartphone may positively surprise with its price.

According Rolanda Quandta from WinFuture, we are talking about the following amounts:

• ASUS ZenFone 7 (6/128 GB) – 499 euro (about 2,190 PLN);
• ASUS ZenFone 7 (8/256 GB) 549 euro (about 2410 PLN).

In Poland, VAT rates are higher than in Germany, which may have an impact on prices, but they should not be excessively high anyway. ZenFone 6 in configuration 6/128 started with us from PLN 2399, so maybe this level can be maintained.

If the leaks are confirmed, ZenFone 7 will be one of the cheapest smartphones with the powerful Snapdragon 865. In our country, it could only be matched by POCO F2 ProThe ASUS flagship is to have a powerful advantage in the form of a unique camera design.
