ASUS and Colorful make Intel Xe graphics cards with DG1 GPU for OEMs – Computer – News

Several manufacturers are releasing desktop video cards with Intel GPUs, Intel reports. These are video cards with the Intel DG1 GPU, which is also in laptops. Intel shows graphics cards from ASUS and Colorful, which are supplied to OEMs.

Intel says to have worked together with two manufacturers the individual video cards. Only ASUS is mentioned by name, but in the metadata of the announcement page it says ok Colorful. Pictures of the DG1 video cards can be seen on a product page. It is a passively cooled version from ASUS and a variant with two fans from Colorful.

Of product page with specifications is not online at the time of writing. In the press release, Intel writes that the DG1 GPUs are equipped with 80 execution units from 4GB vram. These are Intel Xe GPUs made on 10nm, comparable to those for laptops, which are integrated in Intel Tiger Lake processors.

Intel’s new separate video cards for desktops are no more powerful than the IGPUs for laptops. For laptops, the Vehicle Max out, with 96 eu’s it is more powerful on paper than the DG1 variants for desktops. The separate video card does have a slightly higher tdp of 30W, so that the clock speeds may be higher than the laptop version with a tdp of 25W.

The ASUS and Colorful plug-in cards are not intended for individual sale; the manufacturers are going to supply them to OEMs. Prices have not been disclosed. Intel is also working on powerful video cards for desktops. They will receive the DG2 GPU, of which the first versions in the lab are turned on. It is not yet known when video cards with the DG2 chip will be released.
