Is the Saron mortgage becoming too risky?
Even if the market is assuming that interest rates will no longer rise sharply, interest rates should be tied if the budget is tight.
My wife and I are building a four-family house in which we will move into an apartment ourselves in the fall. We are worried about rising interest rates. The construction loan is financed with a Saron of currently 2.25 percent. Having previously relied on the Saron variant, I now no longer know what is correct. I am considering taking out a fixed-rate mortgage for 3 to 5 years. What do you advise us? Reader question from RG
