Arsenal ‘planning shocking summer transfer for Marcus Rashford’ after relationship with Man Utd turns sour

ARSENAL is planning a shocking summer transfer for Marcus Rashford, according to reports.

The Manchester United striker is having a rough time at Old Trafford this season.

He has had a poor run of form and has slipped down the pecking order, scoring just five goals in 26 appearances in all competitions with two completing 90 minutes.

The England international was ruled out by Gareth Southgate for the current Three Lions camp and has also had to deny insulting a fan in the midst of a confrontation with hecklers after United’s Champions League exit.

However, according to the Mirror, Arsenal could offer Rashford an escape route away from Old Trafford.

The Gunners desperately need to sign a forward in the summer.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left in January leaving only Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah as the remaining centre-forwards, but both ended their contracts in the summer.

And Rashford could help lead the line against the exciting talents of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli.

He has plenty of experience with 59 goals in 198 Premier League appearances, including two on his debut against Arsenal in 2016.

And despite going through the academy at his boyhood club, some believe a change of scenery could help Rashford reinvigorate his stuttering career.

His current contract will only have 12 months left at the end of the season.

However, United have the option to extend it for another year until 2024.

If Arsenal don’t land Rashford, they have also been linked with Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak and Benfica’s Darwin Nunez.
