Arsenal transfer target Jonathan David will cost between £38m and £46m if he is to be moved out of Lille, according to reports.

The Canadian striker has become a target for Mikel Arteta’s side after a breakout season for the defending Ligue 1 champions.

He has already racked up an impressive 12 league goals in 26 appearances for the French giants, as well as three Champions League goals in seven matches.

Arsenal have been linked with a striker since the January transfer window, when their long search for Dusan Vlahovic ended with the striker’s move from Fiorentina to Juventus.

But with the Gunners’ interest reportedly now being in David, the 22-year-old striker is reportedly interested in leaving Joselyn Gourvennec’s side.

According to Sky Sports, David wants to leave the club he joined in the summer of 2019 from Belgian side Gent.

Lille are reported to have placed a price tag of around £38m and £46m on the 22-year-old’s head.

While this is significantly less than the £58m Juventus paid for Vlahovic, it is still a hefty price tag for the player.

It is also stated that David will only be interested in moving to a club that can provide him with Champions League football next season.

The Gunners are currently in sixth position, two points off the Champions League places, but with three games in hand over fourth-placed Manchester United.

And the North Londoners’ tails are currently up after their recent dramatic 2-1 win at home against Wolves.

“It brought us a little closer. One less game and three points. 13 games to go, and now it’s Watford,” said a happy but grounded Arteta after the win.

“I think it’s about belief, that we have to keep playing the way we’re doing, and keep pushing, and have that resilience and that ability to dominate games like we’re doing now.”
