Arsenal fans said to ‘control’ despite promising push to finish in Champions League places

Arsenal fans have been told to stop being ‘hype’ as the Gunners made a big step in their bid to finish in the top four at the weekend.

The Gunners moved up to the Champions League places by securing a 3-2 victory over Watford at Vicarage Road.

Martin Odegaard put Arsenal ahead by lobbing the ball into Bukayo Saka’s path and then running into the middle to concede a Saka cross.

Watford equalized through an acrobatic volley from Cucho Hernández, but Mikel Arteta’s side regained their lead when Saka fired into the top corner, before Arsenal added a third through Gabriel Martinelli.

The Hornets scored late through Moussa Sissoko, but the Gunners held on to secure all three points.

The result sees Arsenal sit fourth in the Premier League with 48 points after 25 games played.

Manchester United are one point behind the Gunners and have played three more games, while West Ham are three points behind Arteta and have also played three more than the Gunners.

It seems a wave of optimism has washed over Arsenal fans with the Gunners’ bid to return to Europe’s premier club competition.
