ARP to Examine Bill on Financing Agreement for Tunisian Republic’s Syndicated Loan

The Assembly of People’s Representatives (ARP) will examine, Monday, October 23, a bill approving the financing agreement concluded, on October 10, 2023, between the Tunisian Republic and a group of local banks on a syndicated loan of 750 million dinars, the equivalent of 220 million euros and 13 million dollars.

This agreement was signed between the Ministry of Finance and 18 local banks as part of the financing of the State budget programmed within the framework of the 2023 finance law.

Bh Bank, Amen Bank, Attijari Bank, the Arab International Bank of Tunisia (BIAT)Union Bancaire pour le Commerce et l’Industrie (UBCI), Société Tunisienne de Banque (STB), Banque de Tunisie (BT), Arab Tunisian Bank (ATB) and Banque Zitouna.

These are also the National Agricultural Bank (BNA), the North Africa International Bank, Al Baraka Bank, the Banque Tuniso-Libyenne (BTL), Wifak International Bank, Tunis International Bank, Bank abc, Banque Tuniso- Kuwait Bank (BTK) and the Bank of Tunisia and the Emirates.

Through this agreement, the government plans to benefit from resources coming from non-residents’ foreign currency deposits with local banks and contribute to guaranteeing the stability of foreign currency reserves.
