“When Casterman contacted me to adapt the Jules Verne classic, with Jean-Michel Coblence, I said yes straight away. It is a book that I had read as a child and whose themes of travel, adventure and triumphant modernity I had appreciated. I come from a family where there is a tradition of inventors, engineers, travelers. Everyone knows this story, which has been adapted several times to cinema and comics, and I liked the idea of ​​grabbing a big piece of our imagination. On re-reading, however, I was a little taken aback in some aspects.
