The Municipal Foundation of Social Services coordinates the zone councils that take place since three years ago the Childhood and Adolescence Plan. This has been its second plenary session, since last year it was canceled due to the pandemic. The meeting serves these students to show the work they have been developing throughout the year in the four existing councils; east, west, south and center. Its members have among the 8 and 17 years.
In its first edition, generic topics of interest to these children and young people were raised. This time it has been pollution and the environment. Among his witty, but feasible proposals made throughout the plenary session, the use of mobile planters is included to have aromatic plants “that help to create a more natural environment in the classrooms”, dedicate time a week to nature , the recycling of masks, discounts in supermarkets for those who recycle containers or glass or the promotion of the use of ecological pencils later plantable in school gardens.
The participants have occupied the Plenary Hall but also the Reception Hall to guarantee anti-covid security measures. In total they have participated 16 young people who make up the council and they have been selected by lottery to represent their peers.
It corresponds to the Department of Rights, Social Welfare, Education, Childhood and Youth its presidency through Natalia Gonzalez, accompanied by the Councilor for Maintenance and Public Works, Elm Ron, and the Councilor for the Environment and Mobility, Aurelio Martin.
