Armed Forces of Ukraine went on a counteroffensive in the Izyum direction

Izyum direction remains the hottest point.

Ukrainian troops launched a counteroffensive in the Izyum direction of the Kharkov region.

This was stated by the chairman of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Oleg Sinegubov.

“The Izyum direction remains the hottest point. Our Armed Forces have launched a counteroffensive there. The enemy is retreating in some areas – and this is the result of the nature of our Armed Forces,” he said.

The current situation in the Kharkiv region:

  • Chuguev, Dergachi, Lozovaya and other settlements of the region suffer from rocket and artillery shelling of enemies.
  • So far, it is too dangerous to return to the villages and cities recently liberated from the invaders because of the mines left behind by the Russians.

“The enemy, retreating, mined almost everything: yards, kindergartens, even children’s beds, forest belts, roadsides. Mine clearance continues,” Sinegubov explained.

  • Humanitarian aid is sent to the newly liberated villages.
  • The evacuation is not taking place in an organized manner and not in large numbers: “Because the enemy is still getting artillery to the liberated settlements and aiming directly at civilian cars and buses.”

APU succeeded successfully counterattack near Kharkovas a result of which the Russians had to leave defeated positions and move towards the Russian border.

However, the enemy does not leave the intention to capture the Donetsk, Lugansk and Kherson regions. Active, fierce battles are being waged in these directions.

The Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated the beginning third decisive phase of the war. According to Aleksey Reznikov, for the next weeks the Armed Forces of Ukraine should rely on their own forces, while the heavy weapons supplied by the West equalize on the front of power.
