Arlo releases his smart video doorbell in the Netherlands. The bell, which is simply called ‘Video doorbell’, costs 199 euros. Users must have a subscription to save their images online.

The company’s video doorbell has an angle of view of 180 degrees and an aspect ratio of 1: 1. This makes it possible, according to the company, to portray a person in full. The bubble resolution is 1536×1536 pixels.

The bell has a night mode with an infrared lens and an ‘always-on function’. In addition, the bell always records for 3 or 4 seconds before movement is detected. That feature is only available with a subscription.

The bell costs 199 euros. There is no subscription yet. Without an Arlo Premier subscription users cannot view images. With a subscription of 2.79 euros per month per camera, you can, up to 30 days back. With a subscription, users can also see more comprehensive notifications, recognize people or animals, and set up activity zones.

Arlo, once part of Netgear, announced the bell last year. It was not yet known whether the bell would also come to the Netherlands and for what price. Arlo now says in a press release that the doorbell is for sale through sellers and on the site, although the bell is not yet there at the time of writing.
