Argentina announces the extension of the public ban due to Coruna until the end of June

Argentine President Alberto Fernandez announced the extension of the comprehensive ban in the capital, Buenos Aires and other regions, due to the high cases of coronavirus, until June 28.

Fernandez noted that the decision was taken after the country passed 20,000 confirmed cases earlier Thursday.

He stressed that “the ban imposed since March 20, which was scheduled to be lifted on June 7, has been extended due to high cases of infection,” although officials have eased restrictions in some areas of the country.

Argentina has succeeded in slowing the rise in new infections, by imposing strict public isolation measures at the country level, as it does not allow residents of major cities to leave their homes, except for necessary work or emergency situations, or the purchase of food and family supplies.
