Arents wins the competition in Estonia this weekend

Latvia’s leading card jumper Mareks Arents celebrated his victory in the competition held in Estonia last weekend with a 5.10 meter high jump.

Arent had only two competitors in the competition, who were six and 12 years younger. The starting height of the Latvian was 5.10 meters, overcoming this height with the third attempt. The Latvian also tried to overcome the bar at a height of 5.40 meters, but all three attempts were unsuccessful.

Second place winner Robin Nols jumped 4.75 meters, but bronze was won by Jan Sārgs with 4.05 meters.

In the U-20 age group, Jurijs Avsišcers celebrated the victory with 4.25 meters without competition. The athlete also tried to overcome the 4.45 meter high bar, but without success.

In the ladies’ competition, Anete Jete Meiere jumped 3.15 meters with the last attempt, celebrating the victory without competition. In the U-20 age group, Sonija Aškinezere jumped 3.55 meters and also celebrated success without competition.

The nearest competition in Latvia is expected on July 4, when the 10,000-meter national championship will take place in Piltene.
