Archbishop Al-Ammar: Our country suffers from calamities



The Maronite Archdiocese of Sidon and Deir al-Qamar, Bishop Maroun Al-Ammar, presided over a festive mass in the Church of the Lady in the town of Al-Burjeen, on the occasion of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, and was assisted by the mayor of Jadra, the parish priest, Father Joseph Al-Qazi, in the presence of the former Minister Joseph Al-Hashem, Director General of the Ministry of the Displaced, Ahmed Mahmoud. Deputy Mayor of Al-Burjain, Mario Lotfi, and a number of members of the Municipal Council, the Mukhtar of Al-Burjain, Nimr Bu Aram, President of the Chouf District Development Council, President of the Al-Burjain Cultural and Social Association, Muhammad Al-Shami, people from the parish and the town, and the head and members of the Endowment Committee.

After reciting the Holy Gospel, Archbishop Al-Ammar delivered a sermon inspired by the occasion, in which he congratulated the people of the two towers on the feast, beseeching the Virgin to “remain our intercessor and be on our side, and intercede for our families and our tormented homeland Lebanon.”

He talked about the heavenly message that the Virgin carried, calling for “to be like our Mother, the Virgin Mary, and then deal with good and evil, pointing out that “we are in a country that suffers many calamities, and there are those who do not want good for him,” considering that “their voice and their law are not from The law of our Lord,” stressing “the message of the saints and living in our villages with all our families and brothers, in safety and peace.”

Al-Ammar praised the “distinguished role of Father Joseph Al-Qazi, who is always present in the region,” wishing him “permanent success and success.” Karoub region, stressing that it really deserves this honor.

For his part, Father Al-Qazi thanked Bishop Al-Ammar for his pastoral visit to the town of the two towers, and then Father Al-Qazi congratulated the sons of the two towers on the feast, stressing that “the two towers and Iqlim al-Kharoub are an example of coexistence and national fusion,” stressing that “Lebanon will not be overcome by calamities and tribulations, as long as the Virgin Mary is its patron and protector. His people,” thanking everyone for accepting the invitation.

After the liturgy, congratulations were received in the church hall.
