Aragua medical students promote biosecurity campaign in the health sector

Maracay.- The medical students center of the University of Carabobo (UC), Aragua nucleus, has been carrying out for three weeks a campaign to promote in the health sector the use of personal protective equipment (Epp) and avoid the spread of COVID-19.

The campaign has been called #EppAntesDeAtender and it is aimed at those who are in the first line of health care.

Andreina López, president of the UC medical students center, explained this Tuesday, April 14, to The Pitazo that have been achieved donate biosecurity equipment to doctors who live in the different hospital centers of Aragua.

“We have been doing this activity for three weeks, and in this period we have donated more than 250 facial viewers in 15 health centers in the state,” he said.

The president of the medicine core student center pointed out that as future health professionals they cannot stay on one side in the pandemic, therefore, they have joined efforts and allies that have supported them with the donations they have made.

«We work together with the organization Purple Cross, made up mostly of doctors graduated from our University of Carabobo, medical students and specialists, “he said.

In addition, private companies in the health sector and fundamentally makers (engineers, companies and people in Venezuela who have 3D printers), have joined forces to create and donate the protectors.

“All this was possible thanks to our makers: @dreamdep, @makersvzla and @nedraki, who supported us with facial viewers for medical personnel,” he added.

They also made a donation in the teaching module of the Central Hospital of Maracay of 120 facial viewers for the staff of the University of Carabobo, such as: pediatrics, neurosurgery, gynecology, neonatology, surgery, anesthesiology, internal medicine and ophthalmology.

The UC medical student center hopes to continue delivering more biosecurity equipment in the coming days.
