Arab newspaper bombshell: Iran may attack Israel in next 48 hours – 2024-04-05 11:16:23

Amid the sudden escalation of tensions in the Middle East, rumors of harsh Iranian retaliation against Israel following the Israeli airstrike near Iran’s consulate in Damascus, Syria, have intensified.

It is recalled that the attack in Damascus killed the Supreme Commander of the Quds Force of the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Mohammad Reza Zahedi, as well as seven other members of the IRGC.

According to the Arabic newspaper Al Mayadeen, the CIA has reportedly alerted Israel of an imminent attack by Iran, which could take place within the next 48 hours.

According to the same information, the operation is expected to use an unprecedented combination of drones and cruise missiles, targeting key strategic locations within Israel’s borders.

Meanwhile, the newspaper’s report comes amid public threats by Iran to retaliate, fueling fears of an imminent attack. Israel’s strike has sparked a series of sharp threats from the country’s highest echelons, as it not only killed Zahedi, Iran’s top figure in the region, but several other officers as well.

“Soon we will witness new deadly attacks against Israel and the resistance front will fulfill its duty,” said the representative of the Revolutionary Guards, Ramadan Sharif.

Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, a former commander of the Revolutionary Guards and a member of Iran’s Strategic Foreign Relations Council, said for his part that “punishment of the Zionist entity will be inevitable.”

The supreme religious leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, claimed that “the Zionist regime will be punished by the hands of our brave men”, while on the same wavelength, the Iranian President Ebrahim Raishi, promised that “this crime will not go unanswered”.

According to reports on Iranian channels on the Telegram platform, Iranian leaders claim that the retaliation will target “three top Israeli military leaders.”

It is noted that the facility in Damascus, which was hit during the Israeli strike by advanced F-35 fighter jets, played a crucial role in Iran’s military operations.

According to the Arab newspaper, it served as a command center for the direction of Iranian forces in Syria and Lebanon, under the leadership of Zahedi.

Its role was not only crucial to Iran’s military presence in the region, but also to the planning of operations within Israel itself.
