Let us remind you that in accordance with the provisions of the Act of October 7, 2022 on special solutions to protect electricity consumers in 2023 in connection with the situation on the electricity market (Journal of Laws of 2022, item 2127, as amended .) households are entitled to freeze electricity prices to the level from 2022.
What limits for cheaper electricity and for whom in 2023?
In the area of energy distribution, the price freeze applies to consumers in the G and C1x tariff groups (the so-called construction electricity). In terms of energy sales, it covers consumers in the G and C1x tariff groups (the so-called construction electricity), except for contracts with a fixed price guarantee covering the year 2023. The following power consumption limits apply:
- up to 2000 kWh per year for all households,
- up to 2000 kWh per year for households that are building a house,
- up to 2,600 kWh per year for households with people with disabilities,
- up to 3,000 kWh per year for families with a Large Family Card and for farmers.
The Act also provides that if between October 1, 2022 and December 31, 2023 the customer reduces his consumption by at least 10% compared to the period from October 1, 2021 to December 31, 2022, in 2024 the seller is to offer him a discount of 10% electricity costs from October 2022 – December 2023.

In order to take advantage of cheaper electricity up to the limits of 2.6 MWh and 3 MWh per year, it is necessary to submit declarations on meeting the conditions. And so, respectively:
- farmers must provide a decision on the assessment of agricultural tax for 2022,
- large families – scan of the Large Family Card (valid card number),
- households with people with disabilities – certificate of severe or moderate degree of disability.
In order to verify the data contained in the declaration, the energy company may request the presentation of:
- original Large Family Card,
- original certificate of disability,
- the original decision on the assessment of the agricultural tax for 2022.
Granting a limit 2000 kWh is available to all eligible end consumers and does not require a declaration. The operator will make the proper settlement itself in accordance with applicable regulations.

How to apply for cheaper electricity?
The application for cheaper electricity is submitted to the energy distributor with whom we have concluded a contract in the form of:
- on paper, with a handwritten signature, submitted in person at a DSO Branch or Energy Region or in the form of a parcel at a Polish post office or
- with a qualified electronic signature, a trusted signature or a personal signature (certificate from e-ID) and submit it by means of electronic communication.
Energy distributors reserve that sent photos, scans or other digital images will be left unconsidered.
When do I need to apply for cheaper electricity?
The signed statement with the required attachments should be submitted immediately, however no later than June 30, 2023
