Apple Watch: 3 Things You Sure Don’t Know You Can Do

It seems that whenever we talk about Apple Watch We focus on (a) how it sweeps away the competition or (b) the health and wellness functionalities that the device includes and we forget that the majority of users do not use even 10% of the device’s functionalities.

And that’s precisely what happened to me this week when I did something that stunned a friend. Which I use frequently but apparently not many people know about.

So here is 3 features of the Apple Watch that you surely do not know (and that you are going to love them):

1 – Control the volume of your Bluetooth headphones or speakers

When you share music from your iPhone to an external device, be it AirPods Pro, AirPods Max or any bluetooth speaker, you will see that your watch does not show the normal face but rather the music face, in which you can view the song and album, you can fast-forward, backward, or pause the music, and you can even raise or lower the volume on that device.

To do this, you just have to turn the Digital Crown of your Apple Watch, the round button that protrudes on its side.

If you’re using AirPods Pro or AirPods Max, you can even switch between active noise cancellation and Ambient mode. Everything from your wrist.

2 – Take a photo

No. Your Apple Watch does not have a camera. But it can be used as your iPhone’s camera shutter.

To do this, put the iPhone from where you want to take the photo and open the camera application. On your Apple Watch select the Camera Control and you will see the image your phone is focusing on as well as a shutter and a button with 3 dots.

In the latter you can select if you want to use a timer (3 seconds), which camera you want to use, if you want to use flash, HDR and the Live photos model of iOS.

To take the photo, simply press the shutter and voila! You no longer have to run, or ask a third party to take your photo.

3 – Authenticate and approve the use of keys

If you use Keychain As administrator of your keys and enter from your Mac to a page that asks for your username and password, you can use your Apple Watch to authenticate and approve the use of it without having to manually enter the password. All with a couple of touches.
