Apple is rumored to be using components at low prices to reduce the cost of producing the iPhone 12 5G. The reason is, if you use components that are expensive, the production costs will be higher.

Kuo said Apple reduced the number of layers in the battery and placed cell components in a smaller area.

Quoting from the page of The Verge, Monday (24/8/2020), the use of this battery is also expected to make next year’s iPhone battery 30-40 percent cheaper due to design changes.
Apple is also rumored to be cutting battery costs for the third-generation AirPods next year by switching to a “system-in-package” design similar to that used on the AirPods Pro.
This change will not only apply to 5G-owned hardware. Kuo believes that incorporating millimeter wave technology on the iPhone will cost between USD 125 and USD 135 per unit.

Apple is also doing various things to reduce overall production costs, one of which is by not putting earphones in the sales box.
As previously reported, it is likely that the 2020 iPhones will go on sale in October, a few weeks later than usual. Although it is not clear whether Apple will introduce the iPhone in September as in previous years.
