Apple TV +: Apple will reduce the trial period

From 1is July, Apple will only offer 3 months of trial to Apple TV + for the purchase of a new product.

The Cupertino company is preparing to reduce the trial period for its streaming service. Until now, new buyers of an Apple product have enjoyed one year of free access to Apple TV +, a trial period that had been extended during the year, but starting in July, this period will be reduced.

From 1is July, the purchase and activation of a new iPhone, iPad, iPod, Apple TV or Mac will therefore only offer 3 three free accesses to Apple TV +.

A policy change that should have a significant impact on the number of subscribers to the platform. If the American company has never formalized the figures of its service, many analysts extrapolated concerning the success of the platform. However, with a catalog that is still fairly poorly supplied and a reduced trial period, the popularity of Apple TV + could drop sharply.

Note all the same that Apple’s decision coincides with the arrival of the second season of several of its flagship series. So we can imagine that Apple is looking to see if its streaming service is ready to stand on its own.

While new seasons are on the way, as well as more or less promising new programs, Apple TV + is nowhere near as popular as some other streaming platforms. It must be said that the Cupertino company was starting from scratch. A handicap of which the American company was aware. This is also why Apple is betting on the long term to make its streaming service a success.
