Apple reportedly sent a warning letter to a Chinese leaker

It has now become almost a classic to have news, details and images revealed online of equipment that has not yet been announced or officially released.

However, the Chinese leaker “Kang” will have recently received a letter on behalf of Apple itself warning about the disclosures made by the user.

Leaks are an easy way to get access to various details about certain products. Especially those that are most expected by consumers. This data is usually revealed in poor quality images of the products or by revealing some specifications.

Many users even defend that leaks are strategically promoted by brands, as a way to pique the curiosity and interest of the market. However, it seems that there are companies that repudiate this practice.

Apple sends Chinese leaker warning letter

As we have seen, the anticipated revelations of possible details about the next iPhone 13 have already taken over the Internet. And even as Apple strives to combat this situation, it seems to be difficult to stagnate the leaks.

However, now the apple brand has adopted a new strategy that boils down to sending out warning letters. This happened to the Chinese leaker “Kang” who says he has received a warning from the Cupertino company.

“Kang” is a known leaker as a highly reliable source, and now shared in your Weibo social network account what happened to you. Before the announcement of the current iPhone 12, the leaker released details about the four different models, where it revealed prices, colors and expected launch dates.

But now, “Kang” says he has received a letter from a law firm saying that his actions could share information with Apple's competitors or even mislead consumers about unreleased devices. The letter also includes screenshots of leaker's Weibo account, showing his posts and revelations, such as where he describes some problems he had with Apple products.

Leaker says he has not signed a confidentiality agreement with Apple

In his defense, “Kang” says he has never signed an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) agreement and has not shared undisclosed images or profited from this information.

The leaker currently ranks first in the table of AppleTrack, a platform that compares the reliability of information from various informants. According to the classification, “Kang” has a score of 97.1% accuracy. The same site also indicates that other leakers have received messages similar to the Chinese informer.

For now, Apple has not responded to requests for clarification. And “Kang” adds that he will no longer publish data on future equipment.
