Apple Releases Oceanic+ Dive Computer App for Watch Ultra – Tablets and Phones – News

Apple, in partnership with Huish Outdoors, is releasing the Oceanic+ dive app for the Watch Ultra. The app allows recreational divers to use the Apple smartwatch as a dive computer up to a depth of 40 metres. There is a free version and a paid subscription.

Oceanic+ is only available for Apple Watch Ultra with watchOS 9.1 paired with an iPhone 8 or later, or a second-generation iPhone SE or later, both powered by iOS 16.1. With the free version of the app, you can view your current depth during the dive, track time, see water temperature, and record some basic stats from your most recent dives.

For €10.49 per month or €91 per year, customers get more advanced features such as the dive planner. It allows divers to enter surface time, depth and air mix used, after which the app calculates the no-stop time. Users also have access to a location planner, personalized suggestions, an unlimited log, and visual and tactile safety alerts. For 135 euros a year, up to five family members can use the app. Apple still recommends completing dive protocols, diving with a partner, and always carrying a second device.
