Next the new MacBook Pro introduced yesterday, Apple is introducing yet another product in the webshop: the cleaning cloth. The soft cloth costs 25 euros online.

The cleaning cloth is available separately and can be used to wipe screens of iPhones, iPads, MacBooks. For the sake of completeness, there is a list of ‘compatible’ products, but the cloth can be used on any Apple device.

“With this soft and non-abrasive cleaning cloth you can safely and efficiently clean all Apple displays, for example those with nano-textured glass”, is how the product is described. Furthermore, few details are offered: it is not clear how big the cloth is, or what fabric it is made of.

A price is given: for the cleaning cloth you pay 25 euros in the Belgian webshop. It is not clear whether the thing offers more advantages compared to a simple microfibre cloth, but you can certainly find the latter for a few euros.

Apple always recommends cleaning screens with a “soft, lint-free cloth” rather than paper towels. You can also disinfect a screen with a “70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipe, 75 percent ethyl alcohol wipe, or Clorox disinfectant wipe.”
