A Apple price increase for battery replacement models of iphone which are out of warranty, both in Brazil and in other countries. One of the services most sought after by fans of the brand will cost R$ 158 more, including taxes, starting March 1, 2023. The decision concerns the iPhone 13 and all previous generations. The indigestible novelty was discovered by a user of Reddit.
The manufacturer has not made any official announcement regarding these changes, merely changing the text on its official support page. Anyone who wants to change the battery to the old value must do so by February 28th. According to the website MacRumorsthe price increase does not apply to users with Apple Care and Apple Care+ subscriptions, who continue with their current benefits.
With the increase, the battery replacement price of the iPhone 11one of the most popular models currently, goes from R$ 541 to R$ 699. iPhone 12 and the iPhone 13, this one released just over a year ago. Similarly, in the case of iPhone 7, iPhone 8 and iPhone SE discontinued models of the first generation, the price increases from R$ 386 to R$ 544.
Replacing the battery through specialized technical support is a common action on most mobile phones available on the market, and not just Apple devices, due to the rapid degradation of this type of component. It is worth mentioning that Apple will also increase the price for battery replacement iPads and macbook from March 1st. The increase will be R$ 235 for all models MacBook Air and R$ 400 for MacBooks and Macbook Pros. Replacing the tablet battery will increase by R$ 200.
The new prices apply specifically to Apple’s authorized service network, which includes official stores at Morumbi Shopping, in São Paulo, and Village Mall, in Rio de Janeiro. The increase does not affect unofficial support, which offers battery replacement at a fraction of the price, depending on quality and origin. Consumers opting for external assistance may lose their warranty if the product is still covered.
