Apple publishes data about route plans during lockdown – IT Pro – News

I personally think you hit the nail on the head; the title and content are not entirely correct in my opinion (at least they do not match).

The title says “route planning” which is a great term for the source of the data. The article then says “travel movements”. Those two terms match, if the intention there is to travel. The source message also states “routing requests”. We do not use such words at all in NL, in fact, we have to do business in certain areas to describe and hope the other person understands ..

So if the intention of the article would like to say something about the current travel (kilo) meters, then we can do almost nothing with it. You could, however, send people even more towards public transport (if it is severely understaffed, it seems to me to be reasonably safe in combination with a 1.5-meter measure).
If we start from the intention of the people (says something about the future), then it will be a different story IMO.
