Apple may even launch iPhone without the traditional notch

Apple is expected to reveal the new iPhone 14 during the last quarter of this year, and it will certainly feature some of the company’s latest technologies, and some new features.

Although it is still too early to say what will be in the equipment, some rumors already indicate what we can expect from it. And it looks like Apple will finally start making changes to the notch.

Following what other manufacturers are doing, Apple should start eliminating the notch on the front screen by placing some of the sensors behind the screen. At recently registered patents by the company describe a system where the various front sensors, such as those needed for Face ID, would be placed behind the screen.

Not only that, but the patent also describes that the front camera would also be applied in the same way. That is, the sensor would not have the traditional opening to the outside, and instead, the company would integrate it behind the screen, creating a completely flat surface for the screen.

However, there would be a dedicated chip to process the camera’s images, in order to correct any artifacts that might exist or the distortions caused by the act.

It’s important to note that this would be a big step for Apple, but it remains to be seen whether the technology will actually emerge in the next generation of the iPhone, or if it will be something more dedicated for the future.
