Apple is considering a mount for multiple Pro Display XDRs – One More Thing

Did you think, like us, when Apple presented the new Mac Pro and Pro Display XDR, ‘well, what a money’? Apple apparently not, because the company is already busy with a ‘Dual Pro Stand’ to place two or more of those very expensive screens next to each other. With the price of the Mac Pro wheels in mind, we dare not imagine what it will cost …

According to Patently Apple Apple is developing a new ‘Dual Pro Stand’ for the Pro Display XDR. The Dual Pro Stand for the Pro Display XDR is an insane mount to give those who need a professional workflow the maximum flexibility to work with two of Apple’s perplexing displays.

Apple’s patent states that when most users use multiple displays, they are either mounted individually or mounted on a single support point.

Patently Apple describes it as follows: “Apple’s patent includes a standard for multiple monitors. In the caption, Apple states that when users use multiple displays in a workspace, the displays are generally supported by multiple different individual stands or by independently movable arms that extend from a single support point. “

Apple then points out that displays set up in this way are either difficult to align correctly with each other or they cannot be adjusted individually.

These individual stands or arms take up unnecessarily large spaces, are often aesthetically pleasing, too complicated, and have inefficient redundant mechanisms. When using multiple screens on independent arms, it can be difficult to align them smoothly and accurately due to inconsistent counterweights and arm lengths. If multiple displays are used on a single mount, they cannot be effectively adjusted relative to each other around a vertical axis.

Apple’s new Dual Pro Stand for two multiple Pro Display XDR screens is a continuous piece that allows both displays with “central, vertical and horizontal swivel freedom”.

The stand may have two legs spaced apart at the end portions of the stand (e.g., further apart than the mounting points of the outer displays) that are connected by a generally horizontal support rod. The support bar can be vertically adjustable with respect to the legs by synchronized adjustment of the carriage system associated with each of the legs. The legs can be referred to as vertical supports or vertical support feet. The vertical position of the support bar can be simultaneously adjusted with respect to each of the legs by a connecting bar extending the length of the support bar.

It is not yet known whether De Dual Pro Stand for the Pro Display XDR will hit the market at all, and if it does, when the product will be released.
