Apple invites to launch

It is not more than a month since Apple held a major digital launch where they unveiled the new iPhone 13 series and Apple Watch 7.

iPhone 13 is already in store – read our test of iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro here – and the Apple Watch 7 will now be launched on Friday, but you have more to look forward to from Apple this autumn.

New MacBooker

The company now invites to a new launch event, which will take place on October 18 at 19.00 Norwegian time.

Apple itself has not revealed what is planned, but it is believed that credible rumors will have it that the iPhone manufacturer will introduce new Macs and a new version of AirPods.

According to rumors, Apple will launch three new PCs: two MacBook Pros of 14 and 16 inches, respectively, as well as an upgraded Mac Mini. If the reports are true that the new MacBooks will have Apple’s own chipset in the M1 series, it means that Apple has completed the transition from Intel to in-house developed chips.

Bloombergs Mark Gurman claims that the new Apple chip, which is rumored to be called M1X, will have 10 processor cores against 8 for M1, as well as 16 or 32 graphics processor cores against 7 and 8 on M1.

Furthermore, it is claimed that Apple’s Touch Bar may be on its way out, while magnetic MagSafe charging, HDMI connector and SD card reader return, as many pro users demand.

Mac Mini and AirPods

The new Mac Mini is also rumored to have the alleged M1X chip, and will reportedly be upgraded with more USB-C / Thunderbolt 4 connectors than its predecessor.

As for new AirPods, reported the Bloomberg website earlier this year that the earplugs will have design similarities with the AirPods Pro – but without the soft silicone earplugs.

This may make AirPods 3 fit better with more ears than the current version, rumor has it, but time will tell.
