Apple counts down – expected to present new Iphone within a week

Magnus Högvall and Cecilia Drugge at Accountor

The accounting industry consists of thousands of small companies and some major players, of which Accountor is one. Their focus in recent years has been to invest in digitizing the business to lead the industry in the right direction and create a consistent and high quality for its customers. – If you work with accounting and salary, it can only be right or wrong. And it must be constantly right, says Magnus Högvall, CEO of Accountor.

Inside Accountor’s office, you have to look long and hard to find some binders. The digitalisation journey has been going on for a couple of years and has gradually become a natural part of the business.

– Our system suppliers and our customers are becoming more and more digital and as a service provider, it is important that we respond to that change process. We must work digitally and help drive development, says Magnus.

– For us, digitalisation also means a cultural change in the company, we work together in a completely different way than before; robotisation and digitalisation have resulted in completely new forms of work. Historically, as a consultant you have often sat alone and had all the responsibility on your shoulders, but with the new way of working you become part of a team that together supports each other and shares both successes and challenges, says Cecilia Drugge, Head of process improvement.

Accountor has a global group behind it, and a wide range of its almost 300 consultants. Part of the work is to support the customer in using today’s digital technology for their accounting, payroll management and HR.

– We want it to be easy to run a company in Sweden. Accounting and salaries are a notch in the record for many companies today, then it can be a great help to have a knowledgeable and reliable agency behind them, says Magnus.

Digitization – a win-win

Digitizing and automating certain processes reduces the risk of errors and thus creates predictability, which in turn becomes a great security for the customer. When simple – but time-consuming – tasks are automated, the consultants can also focus on supporting the customer and creating the value that the customer demands.

– It is a model that is much more sustainable, safe and above all it means a stable delivery and less person dependence, says Magnus.

– We will probably never reach the end of the road with digital development and automation, but we have come a long way. By creating clear processes and structured working methods, we can redistribute time and let the monotonous tasks be robotized. In this way, we free up more time to do the fun tasks – those that create customer value. It is a win-win situation, Cecilia concludes.
