Appearing on Lu Master’s Benchmarking, ROG Phone 5 Scores 947,284 Points

We have heard that ASUS will introduce its newest gaming smartphone, ASUS ROG Phone 5 on March 10. Interestingly, ASUS not only introduced the smartphone in the Chinese market, but also in other global markets.

Reportedly, ASUS will equip the ASUS ROG Phone 5 with Qualcomm’s flagship chipset. Yes! Especially if it is not the Snapdragon 888 which was introduced at the end of last year and has been adopted by several well-known smartphone brands such as Samsung, Xiaomi and Realme.

For those of you who are curious about the performance of the Snapdragon 888 in ROG Phone 5, it has recently appeared on the Master Lu benchmarking platform. Through his post on Weibo, Master Lu shared the results of benchmarking ASUS devices with the model number “ASUS_I005DB”.

We already know that this device is the ASUS ROG Phone 5 thanks to a previous leak. However, the results show that the overall device score is 947,284 points. And as the post said, this is Master Lu’s best overall score for a smartphone.

Thanks to the 18GB RAM support embedded in the ROG Phone 5, this smartphone is able to score an incredible 133,998 points in the memory segment. The other overall scores in categories such as CPU, GPU and internal storage are 321,064, 351,767 and 140,455, respectively.

With this benchmark, you will also get a glimpse of the specifications that come on the ROG Phone 5. The device tested is indeed powered by a Snapdragon 888 SoC with a clock speed of 2.84GHz. The screen has a resolution of 2,448 × 1,080 pixels, and 18 GB of RAM is strong testament to what we saw on the Geekbench benchmarking platform.

Previous leaks mentioned that the ROG Phone 5 is said to be flaunting a 6.78-inch OLED screen. And looking at the benchmark results, we can expect that it will be an FHD + screen. Its predecessor had a 144Hz refresh rate but let’s see if ASUS will bring an upgrade like the nubia did yesterday.

DxOMark audio reviews have revealed that the ROG Phone 5 will have a 3.5mm audio jack, dual front-facing speakers with Dirac technology. Other specs are likely to be Dot-Matrix LED on the back panel and a 6,000 mAh battery with 65W fast charging.

It is possible that the Taiwanese manufacturer of technology equipment will bring a more affordable version (without Dot-Matrix LED) to certain markets, but we will have to wait for confirmation until March 10, which is just a few days away. What do you think?
