Anushka Minnaard about being fat and corona in Dor Hout: “It’s their own fault, so they don’t deserve an IC bed”

If you are fat, then you have to do something about it, that’s how many people think about it. But not everyone can do something about it. The problem is, people assume it’s your own fault if you’re fat. “It’s their own fault, so they don’t deserve an IC bed,” has heard Anushka during the corona pandemic. According to her, the conversation should be about health and well-being in a much broader sense.

Anushka hopes that we can move towards a world where weight is no longer seen as a measure of someone’s worth or health. Health includes more aspects; mental health and well-being are important. And also that we can be nice, better and nicer to each other.
