Anton Medan Dies, Former Penitent Thugs Fighting Stroke and Diabetes

BOGOR, KOMPAS.TV – Muhammad Ramdhan Effendi or commonly known as Anton Medan passed away at 15.00 WIB, Monday (15/3)

The late Anton Medan’s son-in-law explained that Anton had experienced high heat and diabetes which he had suffered for decades.

Anton Medan is a man who was born in Tebing Tinggi, North Sumatra on October 10, 1957. He has a long track record in the criminal world before finally repenting and becoming a speaker.

Anton was often convicted of robbery and gambling. There were also allegations that Anton was one of the perpetrators of the arson of a businessman during the 1998 riots.

In 1992 Anton Medan embraced Islam. Previously, he believed in Buddhism and embraced Christianity.

Anton founded the At-Taibin Islamic Boarding School, Cibinong and the Jami ‘Tan Hok Liang Mosque, the mosque building he built has a distinctive style inspired by the Chinese building style.

Before he died, Anton had prepared a grave for himself in the At-Taibin Islamic Boarding School area.

Anton Medan will be buried on Tuesday (16/3) morning next to the Pondok Pesantren Mosque.
