Antoine Gosset-Grainville takes on the highest board position at Axa

Antoine Gosset-Grainville is to become the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of Axa in April 2022. He succeeds in this position Denis duvernewho will be retiring.

Gosset-Grainville is a graduate of the Institut d’études politiques in Paris and has a “DESS” (Postgraduate Degree) in Banking and Finance from the University of Paris IX Dauphine. He was admitted to the bar in Paris (2002) and as a lawyer in Brussels (2013). After graduating from the French École Nationale d’Administration, he began his career in 1993 at the Inspection Générale des Finances.

Before taking on the position of Deputy Secretary General of the European Monetary Committee in 1997 and later of the Economic and Financial Committee of the European Union, he was an advisor for economic and industrial matters in the office of the responsible EU Trade Commissioner from 1999 to 2020.

In 2002 he became a partner at Gide, where he headed the Brussels office for five years before becoming Deputy Director of the Cabinet of the French Prime Minister in 2007, responsible for economic and financial matters and the management of the French state’s investment portfolio. From 2010 to 2012 he was appointed Deputy Managing Director of the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations for Finance, Strategy, Investments and International Operations and Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Caisse des Dépôts Group.
