Allowance for civil servants

In addition to the basic salary, civil servants also receive various benefits.

There are a number of benefits that civil servants get, including work performance allowance, husband / wife allowance, child allowance, and position allowance.

1. Performance allowance

Of the number of benefits obtained, the highest nominal is the performance allowance (tukin). The amount of Tukin varies, depending on the class of the office and the institution where the official works.

At the central government agency level, the highest performance allowance is obtained by civil servants of the Directorate-General for Taxes (DGT) of the Ministry of Finance.

Citing Presidential Regulation No. 37 of 2015 relating to employee performance allowances in the Directorate-General for Taxes, the highest amount of Tukin was obtained from the level I structural officials, which was Rp.

2. Wife / Husband Allowance

Civil servants also get the allowances of the wife or husband. According to the government regulation n. 7 of 1977, the amount of the allowance for the wife / husband is equal to 5 per cent of the basic salary.

However, if the husband and wife are both civil servants, the allowance is granted only to one of them, with reference to the highest basic salary.

3. Child allowance

Another benefit is child support. With reference to PP n. 7 of 1977, the child allowance is set at 2 per cent of the basic salary for each child, with a maximum of 3 children.

Civil servants receive this allowance as long as their children are under 18, unmarried and have no income of their own.

4. Meal allowance

Several agencies also provide food allowances. The amount is IDR 35,000 per day for class I and II civil servants, IDR 37,000 for class III and IDR 41,000 for class IV.

5. Position allowance

Position allowances are accepted only by civil servants who hold certain positions or are structurally. This allowance is better known as the echelon level.
