Another serious accident on E17: Ukrainian trucker seriously injured … (Domestic)

Again there was traffic disaster on the E17 after a series of accidents. In a serious accident in the tail of a traffic jam, a truck driver drove into another truck. He was seriously injured.

Traffic on the E17 towards Antwerp was troubled all day on Wednesday by several accidents. The misery started around 9am. In the Kennedy tunnel towards the Netherlands, two trucks collided. Two of the three lanes were blocked and the handling of that accident took about 2.5 hours.

As a result, a long traffic jam arose on the E17 with a waiting time that rose to over an hour and a half. At just before 2 pm, a Ukrainian truck driver noticed the tail of the traffic jam at Haasdonk too late and drove into his car in front, a Norwegian truck. The driver sustained several fractures and had to be taken out of his driver’s cabin by the fire brigade. He was taken to hospital seriously injured. Two of the three lanes were blocked, resulting in additional nuisance. The Haasdonk driveway was also closed to traffic for a long time.
