Another record increase in prices on the Dutch housing market: an average of almost 435,000 euros | Abroad

According to the CBS, the strong price increase is related to the low mortgage interest rates. This makes it easy for people to borrow more money for the same repayment amount. Mortgage rates have been rising again since the beginning of this year, but the effect of this has not yet been reflected in prices.

In addition, the lockdowns would also play a role, allowing many Dutch people to save more. There are also fewer and fewer houses for sale, so offers are well above the asking price.

For the first time, there are two municipalities where the average sales price is above one million euros: Blaricum and Bloemendaal, two residential municipalities in North Holland. In Pekela in Groningen, the owner-occupied houses are the cheapest, with an average of about 200,000 euros.
