A 37-year-old foreigner was arrested yesterday afternoon by officers of the Regional Drug Prosecution Team (PODIN) of the Central Port Authority of Igoumenitsa, for violating the provisions of the National Customs Code.
Specifically, in a control carried out at the entrance gate of the external port of Igoumenitsa in a truck with a passenger seat, driven by the above, eight hundred and fifteen (815) packs of cigarettes, lacking a special of Greek excise tape, in order to transfer them abroad.
The Igoumenitsa Port Authority, which is conducting the preliminary investigation, confiscated the vehicle and the quantity of tobacco products.
