The United Kingdom reports on Saturday that the number of deceased corona patients has risen sharply. With 290 new deaths, the total rises to 1,019.
The number of confirmed infections in the United Kingdom has also risen sharply: from 14,543 to 17,089. One of the infected is Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Johnson, 55, announced on Friday that he had tested positive for the coronavirus. He stays in home insulation with mild complaints and will continue to work from his official residence.
The prime minister announced a lockdown on Monday because of the corona virus. This should prevent care from becoming overloaded. The population may therefore only leave the house since Tuesday if this is essential.
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, public transport companies in the UK operate according to modified timetables, just like in the Netherlands. A number of airports are also closed or will be closed.

- The coronavirus mainly spreads from person to person via sneezing and cough drops. The chance of becoming infected through surfaces such as door handles is small. This chance decreases if you wash your hands often.
