Anna Kareninová will receive the Lifetime Achievement in Translation Award

Kareninová is an important translator of literary works, the author of radio literary programs, articles and subtitles, she also deals with film translations. She has translated and authored dialogues and subtitles for more than 300 films, creating film translations of films by world directors such as Federico Fellini, Jean Luc Godard, Luchino Visconti, Michelangelo Antonioni, François Truffaut or Peter Greenaway.

Semschová was mostly a television director who also wrote detective stories and children’s books. For example, she participated in the dubbing of the French series Rastignac or Ambition, which in 2004 received the Special Award for Extraordinary Dubbing at the František Filipovský Awards.

The František Filipovský Awards for film dubbing will be awarded at the Citizens’ Bank in Přelouč. This year, the jurors evaluated a total of 37 images. In addition to awards for female and male acting, awards are also given, for example, for the sound, translation and editing of a dubbed audiovisual work or for the dubbing of television or film images of animated and children’s works.
