Anna Julie Slováčková: Defying Cancer for the Second Time

On Wednesday, she played a concert for her new album in front of a full Lucerna Music Bar, the next day she announced on social networks that her cancer had returned. “I believe I can do it a second time,” says the singer and daughter of Felix Slováček and Dáda Patrasová.

“I wanted to tell you only after our christening yesterday at Lucerna Music Bar… I didn’t want to deal with it until the day that was so important to me and that I had been preparing so hard for so long… and I also hoped that my first post after all the wonderful in the evening it will be about something else, but it’s out anyway and of course I have to give a statement about it,” wrote Anna Julie Slováčková.

The singer has already beaten cancer that settled in her breast once. She received the diagnosis about the return of the cancer a month ago. “What do I feel? Terrible rage. And of course fear,” she wrote on social networks. “And I also feel like I’ve let everyone down… I don’t want to scare anyone and I don’t want it to seem like a rule that cancer can come back. It’s not a rule.”

“I know I shared a lot with you the first time, but I need to come to terms with it more on my own and deal with it more alone… At least temporarily. I will continue to work as long as I can. And if I can’t, the world won’t collapse,” she added.
