In a statement, Anna said that the past seven years with Mom have been some of the most fulfilling and rewarding moments of her career. “Although my journey as Christy comes to an end and I have the space to pursue other opportunities, I will watch next season and cheer on my TV family.”

Mom has been on show since 2013 and is about a mother (Allison Janney) and daughter (Anna) who were out of touch for years as they both struggled with addiction. The ladies reconnect, try to get their lives back on track, stay sober and work on their relationship.
