Since the 1.2.0 update ofAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, you can open a Art Gallery in the museum. If you want to complete something other than your bebetopedics of insects and Pisces, this page will explain everything you need to know to buy authentic works without ever being ripped off by Rounard.
The context
Since the 1.2.0 update, players can open an art gallery in the museum. To do this, you will need to speak with Thibou so that he lets you know that he wants to open a new wing in his museum. You will soon meet a shady individual by the name of Rounard.
You will quickly understand that he is not the reliable type. Indeed, he will offer you a first work
to 498,000 bells before immediately lowering it to 4,980 bells.
Abundant counterfeits
After opening the new wing of the museum, Rounard will regularly visit your island and dock north of it to present its display.
You can then admire the works he offers for sale against 4,980 bells, zoom in and browse them as you see fit. However, you can only buy one per pass. You will receive it the next morning in your mailbox.
But there is a catch. Indeed, it turns out that Rounard, unscrupulous, will sell you counterfeits of certain works. Thus, he will present to you, like any other authentic work, reproductions (fortunately) not very faithful to the originals.
Examples of authentic paintings and counterfeits sold by Rounard:
Authentic works | Counterfeits |
---|---|
Note that unlike the old games, there is a chance, with each of its visits, that all the works presented are counterfeits. Thus, you will have to be vigilant to detect works which are authentic and those which are fraudulent. We have prepared you a complete guide to the museum’s art gallery which tells you which works are true, which are false and which do not have counterfeits to help you never get ripped off.
