Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan claim the title Formula E at Ancol was the most successful in history. Anies also exhibited the results of research and surveys on the economic impact of Formula E.
This was conveyed by Anies during the Jakarta E-Prix 2022 Friendly Night on Friday (24/6/2022). In this event, Anies invited all parties involved in the event Formula Estarting from the committee, sponsors to SMEs.
“Tonight we invite stakeholder who yesterdaysupport Jakarta E-Prix, Formula E activities on June 14, 2022. Alhamdulillah, event running smoothly, success. In fact, the Formula E record stated that yesterday’s Jakarta E-Prix was the best in the 8-year history of Formula E,” said Anies at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Jl Medan Merdeka Selatan, Central Jakarta, Friday (6/24/2022).
Anies appreciated all parties who contributed to the success of the first electric car racing event in Jakarta. This proves that Indonesia is able to organize event international scale.
“The international world has realized and seen firsthand that we, the Indonesian people, can be able to organize this event event global equivalent, even the best among Formula E ever,” he said.
Anies also said that Formula E Jakarta had an economic impact. Anies referred to a recent study from an independent and autonomous research institute, the Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (INDEF) which stated that the economic impact obtained by Jakarta was Rp. 2.6 trillion.
“Yesterday’s Formula E activities also had a very significant economic impact. A study conducted by INDEF showed the economic impact reached Rp 2.6 trillion,” he said.
“This is a fairly high number and contributes to increasing GDP growth in Jakarta by 0.1 percent,” he continued.
The former Minister of Education and Culture also revealed that as many as 45 percent of visitors to the Formula E event in Jakarta came from millennials. Thus, he believes that Formula E is able to change the minds of young people to switch to environmentally friendly activities.
Then, as many as 42 percent of visitors are interested in the concept of a sustainable city and the level of visitor satisfaction reaches 92 percent.
“The excellent numbers show that hard work, planning, are the key and this result makes us feel grateful and believe that, God willing, it will be a good provision for organizing in the future,” said Anies.
