Presidential Candidates (Bacapres) Anies Baswedan say election not a matter of continuing or not continuing the previous leader’s program. He said the election is about who will be the leader in the next 5 years.
This was revealed by Anies while attending the Halal Bihalal of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) at the Pajajaran Sports Hall, Jl Pemuda, Bogor City. According to him, elections are a process of repairing or straightening the path that is the goal of the nation and state.
“So if there is an election, it’s not a matter of continuing or not continuing what was yesterday. The election is paving the way towards achieving the goal of this republic, justice,” said Anies, Sunday (11/6/2023).
Anies hopes that there will be no need to worry about whether the current government program will be continued or not. He said the most important thing is who will lead this country for the next 5 years after the 2024 elections.
“So don’t worry, because the goal is not to look at the last 5 years, the last 10 years, the last 15 years, no. The goal is that every 5 years we stop for a moment, determine direction, determine who is assigned to lead this team again in the next 5 years. ahead,” said Anis.
Furthermore, the former governor of DKI Jakarta also touched on justice. He considered that justice must be applied in all aspects of every government policy.
“When asked what changes we are bringing? The changes are not in the interest, not a matter of continuing, the changes are about incorporating elements of justice, equality in every policy made,” said Anies.
“So we hope that in that way, there will be continuity and there will be changes. Because it is impossible to just continue and there cannot be any changes. But the element of justice, this is what concerns us all,” he added.
