Universities in Angola are undergoing a rigorous external evaluation process, where criteria were defined, with the aim of raising the quality of teaching, the Secretary of State for Higher Education, Eugénio Alves da Silva.
According to the secretary, the external evaluation process of courses taught in public and private higher education institutions is being processed by the National Institute for Assessment, Accreditation and Recognition of Higher Education Studies (INAAREES).
Speaking to the press, on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the 2023/2024 academic year at the Escola Superior de Guerra, he stated that one can only speak with confidence about the quality of higher education institutions, after a due assessment.
He highlighted that this institution has specific missions to evaluate, complying with standards and devices and using defined indicators and parameters to, accordingly, produce a value judgment on the quality of the courses.
