Unofficial information that Donald Trump, who after winning the primaries is on his way to receiving the nomination of the Republican Party before the November US presidential elections, will meet with President Andrzej Duda on Wednesday, was confirmed by the Associated Press.
President Andrzej Duda went to the United States, where he will meet, among others, with UN Secretary-General António Guterres. This is the second visit of the Polish president to the USA in a month. Recently, Andrzej Duda, together with Prime Minister Donald Tusk, was received by President Joe Biden at the White House. In the following days, the president will visit Canada and talk to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The planned meeting between Donald Trump and Andrzej Duda was partly criticized by politicians from the ruling coalition. During a press briefing on Wednesday evening, the President of the Republic of Poland himself referred to this, noting that the heads of state “meet with their colleagues, especially those who once held presidential offices in their countries.” — This is normal practice, nothing unusual about it. Presidents also meet various politicians during their visits abroad. It is normal that if a country has good relations with another country, it wants these relations to be the best, with representatives of different sides of the political scene, he said in New York.
– I want to emphasize one aspect: yes, this meeting will actually take place tonight, I was invited by Donald Trump to his private apartment, I can say so, so it is really a completely private visit, a private invitation – Duda noted. – We have worked together for four years, we know each other, we are in good relations and it was simply a private meeting due to my presence in New York – he explained.
